The Dangers of Being Too Cool

Hello Lovelies!

Apologies for temporarily going MIA - After finally being persuaded to change my privacy settings, I accidentally made it so no would could see anything at all! Usually the one to be rather tech savvy, I couldnt understand what I did - shameful. Hopefully it's fixed, and I'm back to share with everyone now :)

Today was just the perfect day off I needed! I finished work 2 hours early this morning (4am ick!) - got a few hours sleep in, woke up in time for Dr Phil (pornography addicted priests - it was definitely a goodin') - and spent the day shopping with Sarah.

She's an angel really - whilst I grumpily answer the door in my underwear and bed hair - she cheerfully stands with a stack of freshly made Pumpkin Pancakes!! Topped with honey and ricotta - made especially squishy so I could enjoy them too! They were absolutely DELICIOUS - trott over to her Blog and try and weasel the recipe out of her for me!!

Scrumdiddliumptious!

After an impulse decision to get our nails done - we ventured into town! Christmas is well and truly in the air! Children with fairy costumes, face painting, charity workers, decorations - loving it. It feels really good to go out and spend all the generous tips you earned from the night before - a free day of treating oneself on another's income is my favourite kind of day! The hardest part was deciding which nail polish colour to get - I picked what I thought was a light matt grey called "Moon Over Mambai" by OPI. However, the colour came out in a beautiful pearl-lucent grey.

The above photo is with two coats - I would have loved a third just to take the edge off the opaqueness of it, however I'm absolutely in love with this colour (also, I've never had my acrylics done better than with 'Tee' in the Myer centre Profession-NAIL - she did a really good job!). 'Moon over Mumbai', is now probably my second favourite, after 'Panda-monium Pink' which has sure enough become my staple nail polish colour:

I very much like to surprise people I love with little treats - just to let them know how great I think they are! Today's lucky recipient was my dear boyfriend - he's been pretty great - and I may have accidentally been a little hysterical with him a few nights ago. So out of love (and guilt) I rummaged together a few little treats. We've been rather religiously watching 'The Walking Dead' series together since.. well when we first got together - so I thought it would be a good idea to start at the very very beginning and collect the comic books. I also stumbled upon a very cute 'Ninja Bread Men' cookie cutter - perfect for my ginger bread lovin' bb.

While I'm on the subject - Pulp Fiction Comics is a really chic little store!:

I'd only ever been once before - but never remembered it being this quaint and cute! It's very modern but still has the cosy feeling of being surrounded by books! The gentleman (or lack of..) working there was hysterical. Within 3 seconds of the transaction being processed we were in a brilliantly deep conversation about all things walking dead, breaking bad, and community - especially bonding over the fact we both wait until Monday (for Walking Dead) and Tuesday (Community) each week for new episodes to be uploaded.

Apparently its a ritual of his - he explained: to gather a large selection of close friends to come around each Tuesday for beers and television catch up good times. The main attraction of this event is the cooking bonanza that goes on prior to the viewing of each show. Basically, the idea is to get as many ingredients from your cupboard as possible, and create the most incredible feast you can!

I'm definitely getting on board with this exciting ritual! I'll update the first feast I (and definitely Sarah - she's a culinary genius) create!!

Until then, enjoy your hump day!

Bisous xxxxx

ps. a little musical treat for yall' - tragic brilliance!
