GHD vs. The Silver Bullet Review

I now have a graveyard of 4 ghd's, and one silver bullet (hair straightener, not vibrator!) in my bathroom.

The good thing about this is that I can finally post my own GHD vs. Silver Bullet Review!! One in which neither company is  bribing me to speak ill of the other! (But by all means GHD and Silver Bullet please, please send me a new straightener if you feel like my judgement should be swayed!)

The bad thing is I have to be at work at 11pm and would like to get a nap in prior to this! So, this post will be a work in progress - that I will finish tomorrow morning when I get home from work at 6am*

**No I'm not a stripper! But I do serve rich old men beverages and receive generous tips!!

uhh, what? Louis Vuitton, is that you?

Don't get me wrong - I love Louis Vuitton as much as the next girl! (and lucky enough to live in a household with an avid collector of these beautiful handbags/shoes etc - not myself, but my old man! haha)

But what is this?!

Disliking it very much. Apparently it's meant to be a well known artist's rendition of a new age 'Alice in Wonderland' - but instead a little girl loses her mobile phone, only to find a LV Panda (panda..really?) has swallowed it, who then swiftly swallows her into a psychedelic wonderland of LV prints.

Seems, a little... interesting?

Delicious Delicacies!!

One more quick little post before bed time!!

Last night - while feeling sorry for myself, I decided to cook my lovely boyfriend a special dinner for still loving me even with this horrible metal in my mouth!

(Cooking whilst not being able to eat it myself was surprisingly rather soothing!)

After scouring the internet for a while I stumbled upon a delicious sounding Soy and Maple syrup marinated Scotch Fillet! Being a vegetarian I've never cooked steak in my life - especially one that cost so damn much for one serve! ($11.50?! Daylight robbery!!) although I thought he deserved a little treat!

Honestly, I have never tasted a more delicious marinade in my life!! I wont lie, it is a Masterchef Jr recipe, but I jazzed it up a little, by adding extra orange zest!!

The result was this:

I know, I'm a steak cooking genius if I ever saw one. Apparently if they look like they're still bleeding it's cooked to perfection?

I also made an extra batch of marinade and soaked a load of tofu in it for several hours - absolutely delicious!! The tofu was soft enough to squish with my tongue but had enough flavour to satisfy my grumbly tummy!

You can find the original recipe here: (as much as a dislike Curtis Stone, he wins at this one!)

Its TEETH-HURT TIMEEE! (hurrhurr)

...yes, yes that was a Jersey Shore pun. Although is anyone still watching/interested? I only just finished the finale/& reunion today, and usually I'm the one to religiously wait until 5pm on a Friday to watch the newest uploaded episode. Unfortunately it seems to have become suddenly, extremely boring - lets hope season 5 returns to its trashy and brilliant former glory!!

BUT! The main event - my braces are now on. My god,  I have never been in more pain in my entire life. It's not so much a horrible excruciating "I cant bare to live" kind of pain - more so a "I can feel that I'm in a lot of pain but cant place exactly where its hurting, nor do anything about it". Absolutely awful. To make it worse, due to the fact the braces are on the inside of my teeth, my poor tongue has been ripped to shreds.

Day 1: I was pleasantly surprised - I'd anticipated absolute agony. It wasn't too bad at all, the braces didn't interfere with my tongue too much, I was able to chew and only had the slightest lisp - even worked all day!

Day 2: Stupid me forgot to put in the protective 'wax' during the night, thus the next morning I woke up in sheer pain whilst chewing the sides of my tongue to death. This caused major swelling and blood loss - to make it worse my lisp was about 50x more intense. The worst part however was the throbbing pain - nurofen plus could only do so much!

Day 3: was very much like day 2, but more infuriating. I shed a few frustrated tears at work,  mainly because eating mushy foods was messing with my sanity and I waned out of this braces deal stat!

Today: It's getting better! the cuts are really painful still, but I've improved my newly formed speech impediment. Still about ready to rip these off my teeth but, in the interest of straight beautiful teeth, I'm sticking it out!! To be perfectly honest I feel like a teething baby - I would kill to dig my teeth into a giant steak!! (worst vegetarian ever!)

Here's a picture of Day 4 - after I'd just finished work. Not feeling too peachy but I forced a grimace. The quality is shabby too, but at least you can see a SLIGHT improvement with my snaggle tooth!(?)

Will update next week on progress! Until then, lots of sobbing and pain killers!!

Pain is Beauty!

Asian men ... really like to drink out of straws...

First interesting fact I learnt at my new job - but oh so true.

Speaking of Asians - taking a moment to bask in the GLORIOUS good looks of  'Key' the lead singer of 'Shinee' - an awesome KPop Boy band! (you're welcome)

Here's a little sneak peak of the sexy boy band good times - you have to admit, they are stylish sexy dancing men of dreams!!

The Sassy & Smart Girls Guide to Lingual Braces!

 Well world...

As of 8am next Monday - I will be almost certainly a slobbering, spitting, slurring lisp-y dream come true.

Why? I hear you ask...

I will have braces....

I've never really had bad teeth - actually as far as teeth go they're up there in terms of whiteness and being all there. But being the vain young thing that I am, I began to notice a not so nice 'snaggle' tooth protruding my otherwise OK smile. With only a few months left on the "I will pay for your braces if you get them before you're 21" deal made by my father, I decided to go ahead and get my wisdom teeth out, in preparation for my inner sanctum to be invaded by metal.

Little did I know a few months would fly right past me and the day in which I become Lizzy "brace-face" Davey would be right at my doorstep!

There is a somewhat silver lining to all this though - I managed to convince the orthodontist to put me in 'Lingual Braces'. Lingual is Orthodontist terminology for braces that go on the inside of your teeth. I believe the pain level is a billion times worse than with regular braces - however I would rather die than face the world as a twenty something metal mouth (apologies to any of you who have braces on the outside! Kudos for being so brave! I'm sure you rock the look!)

Each week/month I think I'm going to upload a photo of my new and improving chompers - so I can track their progress and hopefully show the long and painful experience! I'll keep ya'll updated on their progress!!

Here are my teeth currently!!

See what I mean about a snaggle tooth? On the left, sticking out righttt out into space.

The end product (hopefully!!):

I find solace in the fact that my favourite country love Miley Cyrus also had Lingual Braces - her bottom teeth are looking fabulous these days! No more snaggle tooth for her. From this I can only conclude that in 9 months I will look exactly like Miley Cyrus.

But until monday - someone pass me the candy corn, toffee apple and caramel!!

Wigga Thursday

Hi Lovelies!

On much reflection, I decided that it was much too early too early on in this Blogging world of mind to be ranting. So; I deleted my previous post - not to say I will do that for every post, but a little life editing never hurt anyone!  Especially when my new blog has critics raving " it's the event of the season" - I really need to step up my A-game and provide exciting and wonderful posts that hopefully will make you laugh and cry! (happy tears!)

Today is what I would like to call, Wigga Thursday - I have a somewhat unnatural knack of making the BEST car mix cd's ever, therefore Wigga Thursday's album consisted of a little Coolio, some Biggie, Snoop, Kanye and to finish la piece da la resistance: Tupac! Sarah and I very much looked the part driving my Alfa Romeo down the trendy eastern suburbs 'strip' of Norwood Parade, making our way to no other than Grace the Establishment! (for cold, expensive and pretentious soy late).

No, I kid - Grace the Establishment is a beautiful place to wine and dine! The food is EXQUISITE and the bar staff are pretty easy on the eye (I'm looking at you sexy moustache man). I like it so much, I've even planned my birthday celebrations there this year!

 21st Birthday celebrations!

Speaking of, I've found my 21st dress! I'm not one to go too over the top, so this beautiful little white number is absolutely perfect! Danii found it, thank the lord she did because it's so exquisitely elegant (and hides a not so elegant large tattoo on my forearm). I'm thinking I'll team it up with some kind of outlandish shoe buisness - my heart is set on these STUNNING Christian Louboutin teal dreams, but we'll see!!

Oh and here is my wonderful best friend Sarah; the inspiration of this Blog...and myself, enjoying our soy lattes and man scoping in the sun!

Whilst I try to be as healthy as I possibly can - this afternoon unfortunately lead me straight to the delicious Cupcake Shop on the Parade. Its wonderful there, they specialise in delicious american fatty treats, (Reeses Peanut Butter cups, twinkies etc need I say more?) and of course the most yummyscrummy melt in your mouth cupcakes!!

I met up with my lovely friend Liz (not myself) and we caved in to temptation by treating ourselves with a vanilla and blueberry/raspberry cupcake! It's such a difficult life cafe/food hopping around in the sun  all day with friends!

From here on out anything else great that happens today is a bonus!! Time for red wine and killing some zombies I think! (Dead Island is an awesome zombie hack n' slash! Definitely recommend it!!)

Till next time! Bisous, Lizzyxx
